So you are living in an illusion of choice, while your options are obviously determined by the big corpo that you relied on for getting that card
(Saying that, I got an NVIDIA card like a dumbass too)
Yeah ok. But java uses weird graphics toolkits. For example many java apps still rely on X11 and look like crap on modern Linux, have no support for fractional scaling etc.

18·1 month agoTbh the T470/80 seems to be one of the last real Thiccpad series.
I had one in my backpack and slipped on ice, fell straight on my back. Laptop didnt have any issues
No wayland, missing fuse2, pulseaudio, weird graphics libraries, java…
nix-shell -p packagenameAnd then add to config if you wanna keep it
The meme template lol
Also this dude (the video is very useless and expected)
It is just input lol

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•All money probably went into NVIDIA GPUs
47·1 month agoCalled “Fair use” or “ethical software” but people hate it and lawyers tell you it is not enforceable for… some reason
Yes but doesnt support wayland yet. I dont get the post
Idk I tried a Wacom tablet on KDE Plasma 6.5 wayland, all fine, worked fine in GIMP 3 too with pressure sensitivity and all
You can install maliit but it will pull in the entire qt5 kf5 bloat.
Maliit is being replaced by plasma-keyboard which is supposed to be released with Plasma 6.6
Maliit is really abandoned, still based on Qt5
Gimp supports wayland, Krita doesnt. So not at all.
Also plugin support is better with gimp afaik.
I dont get it. Krita doesnt even launch if X11 support is disabled.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•What a nice desktop you got there
2·2 months agoYeah that is also pretty old and I guess unmaintained.

I also really like it, it is fast, OS native, has polkit integration for system files, LSP and linting works too, for example shellcheck for posix sh or bash scripts.
Have not used some of the features yet
