Kinda same, but I would also always tinker with Plasma endlessly customising every little bit, installed applets and widgets to check if they’re better than what I’m currently using. It got tiresome, but I just couldn’t stop myself. After a while I installed Gnome and just embraced the simplicity.

My gripe is no other app than Sync allows me to easily change instance to see posts only from that instance. At least it used to, the button stopped working for me a while ago
In my experience it was KDE 3 that was praised, while 4 was shunned for being too bloated, and trying to be too much like Windows Aero

71·9 months agoEh, Gnome is fine. I like KDE, but I’d rather use my PC for the stuff I want to use it for rather than obsessively change some stuff so it looks better only to change it the next time I boot it again.
There is polish Blik. It’s cardless, and I think all major banks in Poland support it. They started expanding into Slovakia and Romania last I heard.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think the worst year was for your hobby?
2·1 year agoOn one hand yes, on the other, you don’t really need the newest games, as you definitely have a backlog full of games to play. I am very slowly looking for maybe an upgrade to my 6yo PC, but maybe a sidegrade is all I need. Maybe a switch 2? There’s a lot less pressure on constant upgrades if you don’t chase the big trends and upgrade every cycle

Technology@lemmy.world•No One Is Buying AMD Zen 5 CPUs, So What's Going On?English
81·1 year agoI’m still on my Zen1 1600, with DDR4 RAM and RX580 8GB which I built back in 2018. Whenever I’m thinking of upgrading I just look at the prices. I’d basically need to upgrade everything, maybe aside from GPU which would become a giant bottleneck, so it should be upgraded as well.
I really don’t even want to think about gutting my PC and upgrading, I’d much rather switch to a console.

Cyberpunk@lemmy.zip•[Book] What Shadowrun novels would you recommend reading?
2·2 years agoI read Never Deal With s Dragon as my first ever cyberpunk/Shadowrun book and it made me a lifelong fan of the genre, so there’s that. Maybe I should actually re-read them now as an adult, since I mostly really remember the first one, and a bit from the third.

Huh, did it really do that? I remember installing steam for Linux as soon as beta was available but never had this happen to me

Probably even more than 1/3. How many would immediately lose confidence it won’t happen to them all over the world?
