There’s concern about it where the content has utility beyond art, such as academic research and raw datasets.

The illegality of production and sale makes the drugs far more likely to be adulterated or a concentration other than advertised, which kills people. Prohibition causes black markets, which leads to people resolving disputes through violence since they can’t use the courts.

Actually nullifying a debt a borrower owes to a lender, which the government guaranteed would be paid at the time the loan was issued would be akin to theft. As far as I know, all programs that “cancel” student loan debt are actually the government paying the balance to the issuer.
Why do you need this if you don’t use analytics or store anything but a session? It looks like the GDPR and CCPA don’t require a notice or consent for session cookies, shopping carts, or similar features that are strictly necessary to provide functionality the user is intentionally accessing.

Aside from the obvious analog hole, that’s only possible if the user’s device cooperates, which is never guaranteed.
There is no way to send messages to someone’s device and guarantee they won’t provide them to a third party. Technology can’t force an untrustworthy person to keep your secrets.

The headline is a bit misleading. The government had a warrant to search the phone, which required repair before they could do so. The court ruled that repairing the phone was not a separate search requiring a separate warrant.

I think the grandparent comment’s poorly articulated point is that 911 is for emergencies involving an immediate risk of death. It’s better to call the non-emergency number for the local police department to report crimes that have already occurred because the phone system will prioritize the calls differently.
People who currently use drugs illegally are also forbidden from having guns in the USA. Hunter Biden was convicted of the related offense of lying about it on the background check form.
