WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto Europe@feddit.org•74% of EU citizens think that their country has benefited from EU membershipEnglish15·3 months agoThe Dutch government has botched implementing these environmental reforms quite a bit in the past, which has caused right wing / anti enviromental parties to swoop in and claim the bigger environmental rules are the problem, instead of the way they were implemented.
There’s this one big ‘farmer’s party’ and a lot of farmers have bought into their lie of representing actual farmers, but the party was founded by lobbyists and their biggest donators are chemical companies who would benefit a ton from being allowed to pollute

For sure the commenter was just asking what space MacOS owns
I would argue macOS owns the creative space (Design, Art and Music)

WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto Europe@feddit.org•Dutch security units dismayed by Israeli influence on national politicsEnglish321·8 months agoThe funniest thing to me is ‘take their passports away’ and ‘deport them’ as if these are recent immigrants. Most of these kids are 2nd or 3rd generation, and fully Dutch citizens, so nothing can be done against them in that way

WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto Technology@lemmy.world•The Internet Archive and its 916 billion saved web pages are back onlineEnglish101·9 months agoThere was an actual example where a journalistic article about afghanistan accidentally leaked names of some sources and people who helped westerners in afghanistan, which did actually endanger those people’s lives.
WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto Technology@lemmy.world•The Internet Archive and its 916 billion saved web pages are back onlineEnglish111·9 months agoThe thing is sometimed articles must be removed from IA (copyright (I disagree with that one) or when information is leaked that could threaten lives), with a blockchain this would be impossible

WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto [Locked] YUROP@lemm.ee•The first time I went to Spain I learned that they used a different set of playing cards1·1 year agoOops, maybe that was unclear. I meant even within each area of the map; blue, yellow, orange, green there are regional variations in designs!
WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto [Locked] YUROP@lemm.ee•The first time I went to Spain I learned that they used a different set of playing cards1·1 year agoOmg! One of my obsessions!!!
Whenever I travel somewhere, as a souvenir, I buy the local design of playing cards. Even within the colour-regions there are many variations. I might be biased because I’m dutch, but the Dutch Cut is one of my favourites, because of the architecture on the aces!
In Italy every region has their own design! (Even within the ones shown in this map.)
With the admins of feddit.de moving to feddit.org, will !europe@feddit.de move with them?
WaterSword@discuss.tchncs.deto politics @lemmy.world•The upside-down American flag goes mainstream as a form of right-wing protest17·1 year agoAs someone from the Netherlands this is nothing new. Right wingers and anti-climate policy farmers have been using the upside down Dutch flag for a long time. Always funny when people from other countries see it:
“Why is the flag of Yugoslavia so prevalent?” Or the same thing with Schleswig-Holstein. (A German province)
I passed it first try as a zoomer
Comic sans is a great typeface in my opinion. Just often misused.
