Cheating on his wife was reprehensible, but not really impeachment-worthy. Did it make any difference in his ability to govern? Nope. But sure, if it didn’t happen in his second term, I’m not going to say you shouldn’t have been allowed to consider it for whether or not you should vote for his reelection.
There’s a distinction between intelligence and sentience.
The stuff impressing people right now only has a tiny short term memory and no way of really transferring that short term memory to long term memory, so it’s definitely not something you can characterise as sentience.
It is definitely intelligence, though, since it can draw from a very large pretrained set of knowledge with deep relational connections.
Zelenskyy has also tried to bully us, for example blocking gas pipelines from Russia to the EU and then blaming it on the Russians. I get it since they’re on the defensive and desperate to protect their home, but it’s still obnoxious since we should be and already are supporting them. That being said, Ukraine isn’t also bombing refugee camps full of innocent people. The EU also really needs to ween off of Russian fossil fuels anyway. The Israel-Hamas conflict, by contrast, reeks of ESH and I wish we weren’t so invested in either side.
EDIT: Just making it clear for those that didn’t read the above very closely: Ukraine deserves support. It just doesn’t change the fact that Zelenskyy has tried to twist arms for that support, for better or worse.
Of course. The primary function of any senate in the US is to give power to land rather than to people.
It’s not, but do you think we’re giving away cutting edge military tech or not developing that cutting edge tech that obsoletes the stuff we’re giving away regardless? It doesn’t really have a lot of value to the US rotting away in warehouse storage.
Note that I’m not saying this in support of Israel nor am I well enough informed to know if this even applies there. It definitely applies to Ukraine aid, though.
