I use Brave since some extensions I use don’t work on Firefox and I prefer it as well. Once you turn off all of the crypto and other bloat - it’s the best browser ever, at least for me.

I get that, but alternatives suck. Firefox doesn’t even support all of the extensions I need.

You can easily hide crypto stuff (which I do) and Chromium is great, just not Google Chrome, but the actual Chromium.

All of this is true, but we will eventually have to migrate to Rust. Will probably take decades tho. Rust is absolutely not a silver bullet, but will help in certain cases.

I’m all for attacking infra - we need to make this shit more resilient and we need to transition to memory-safe langs like Rust. This will hopefully accelerate it. Also, I lol at people saying Trump/Elon/Doge will destroy the US when in reality - these kinds of people who wanna attack it probably have way better chances to do so.

Lemmy is WAY more left-leaning and instance/community mods are often more trigger-happy when removing comments/banning people.

To the 9 people who disliked my comment (and many more who will in the future) - just think about how fucking weird it is to not want to higher certain races in favor of other races just cause you want to create artificial equity. There are literally instances where white person who is more qualified for a position will get denied in favor of let’s say black person who might be less qualified just because companies wanna fill some DEI quotas. That’s super racist. Companies should hire he best candidates (be it black, asian, white or whatever) and not some (often) mediocre candidates just cause they a certain race.
