Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your thoughs about YouTube clickbait?
3·2 months agoI think removing the dislike button has really damaged the platform. That is a decision only done for financial reasons… because once you don’t know that others don’t like the content, then you might stay longer.
What should have been done instead is adding more vote abilities instead, like “vote misleading”, “vote bad quality”, “vote ragebait” etc.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would you do if you found an infinite money/duplication glitch in real life?

I once made around 50 euros designing a keyboard layout for a person I met on Reddit. He did international transfer over bank lol.
I have made money with crypto. Usually I would follow this friends of mine, he tells me when to buy and when to sell. To get it to the bank, you transfer from the exchange to either Coinbase or Binance and then withdraw to your bank there.
I have made money from a website me and by friend was hosting. Used ad services, withdraw to PayPal and then to the bank.
I technically would have made money from YouTube with some thousands of views, but are not opted in to any program there.
I would like to recommend you some freelance job, but I don’t have experience in that field…
No because there is randomness involved

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Any decent pay portals for online stores that pay cash to crypto?
2·3 months agoI’m pretty sure you can buy crypto with fiat money using the decentralized open-source non-kyc application called Haveno
That depends on the instance you’re using. Each instance has their set of rules
It’s worth mentioning that this guy and the “Uber driver” works in the same company

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do I make of this person I met online?
5·3 months agoSounds a bit like overthinking. People come and people go. It is especially fast online. Maybe a bit sad, but there are just plenty of people out there to interact with

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What in your country/area is totally normal but visitors get excited for?
82·4 months agoDepositing bottles.
Put them into a machine, and it gives you money back 🤯
I recommend you study marketing and entrepreneurship.
I don’t mean to be rude, but many of these “genius” ideas suddenly isn’t so fun anymore when you put all the pieces together. It might also reveal that your idea is incredible hard to pull off.
Then as for your own motivation: come back to this in one month… 4 months… 2 years from now… is that idea still what you’re burning for? Or just a random realization that probably has been tried atleast 10 times before.
I personally have been working on an idea for 5 years, and are still burning for it. The harsh reality I didn’t know in the beginning was the incredible oversight of the amount of work and planning that needs to be done. 3 full entire rewrites, changes in architecture, traction going down, you realize you suddenly have 10 competitors who has already been doing this since 2004…
Good luck man with whatever fantasy you’re up to. But be a bit more real about it…

Google hates my projects if I don’t censor certain words. As far as that is the highest contributer of traffic, what can I do?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do I fact-check the news (step by step)?
1·4 months agoSeriously though, does anyone know if Trump is smart or not? Anyone knows his grades when he was younger for example? Did he ever take an IQ test? What does it even mean to be smart? How do you even prove this statement?
I block spammers and scammers… but when taking about real “I incredibly really dislike this person” kind of blocking, then that is 1.
He is like my shadow, completely opposite of how I would ever act with people. It drives me nuts every time I see a message from him since what he desires, I also desire, but he does it so so much worse in a way I would never do it.
We interacted once. Got kind of a negative-ish jokingly response, so I checked their history and… Yeah no.
There is also tons of other things I just clash with him on too, like some idealistic views…
In my eyes, he downgrades the community VASTLY with his hot takes, negativity and ignorance, but others disagree… so I block him

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•8 billion people vs. 3000 billionaires: Who would win?
2·4 months agoWhat kind of battle are we taking about? Violence? Then 8 billion people would win because the combined force of knowledge.
This question also really depend on strategy. You know a billion worth doesn’t need to be all in cash. Before cash was a thing, we traded items… but it’s rare to trade items that are exactly worth the same, so money is a nice way to compensate that.
The billion worth can all be spent on defense, it can all be spent on pleasing the 8 billion people. It can be spent to create harmony instead of hatred.

I think SOMA. The first time I played it, I had no clue it was a horror game. It has such great atmosphere. A balance between mystery, adventure and horror, all while keeping it calm and slow.
