I found the original study in the article, it’s in German. Here it is (Linux Gaming: Test Results and Conclusion), it looks like most Linux distros have worse lows and frame times than Windows 11, other than Arch Linux which seems to be a tossup.

Repealing that act should be one of the largest priorities of leftists in the United States. I wish people talked about it more.
I’m glad to hear it, this will make the mobile version much more usable.
Gerrymandering is a bad thing in a fair democratic system with political parties that believe in democracies. When one of the parties doesn’t believe in democratic principles, it is good to remove them from power, and gerrymandering towards the Democrats has that effect.
He and the Republican conference look so ridiculous that it will diminish the Republicans’ election chances in 2024. Voters don’t want abortion to be banned and feel iffy about January 6th, so there’s a strong chance that 2024 will be dismal for Republicans.
Why is censorship the answer? Can’t parents and the educational system teach children to avoid it themselves and be responsible with their internet usage? That seems like a much more holistic answer to this problem.
Sometimes they can slightly tolerate Catholics, but just barely. The same can’t be said of any non-Christian religion.
You’re willing to vote for the fascist candidate because he’s funny? Even if Biden is senile, at this point, I’d vote for a dead possum over Trump simply because the dead possum wouldn’t try to overthrow the country.
It probably used some weird webview shit they routed through Edge, so when you uninstalled it the entire system broke.
Voting needs to be changed first. Until it's changed, third parties will never be viable, and voting for their candidates will only cause a spoiler effect for the main two parties. Considering that the GOP is fascist, they need to be removed from office for any type of reform to be made successfully to the American democracy.
This is completely unsurprising. Under the new “free speech” regime, X has been completely deluged with antisemitic, pro-Russia, and anti-democracy propaganda. It’s no wonder that advertisers don’t want to be associated with that type of content.
Mastadon (and the Fediverse in general, to some extent) has problems with discoverability and the average user finds federation confusing. People tend to either use microblogging to see what’s going on with people they’re interested in or to broadcast their activities to a large group of people, and Mastadon currently doesn’t fit that niche very well.
A lot of people stay because of lingering attachment to the platform. As weird as it is, changing the branding subconsciously tells the human brain “This is a new platform” and that makes switching mentally easier.
This is a really good way of explaining the difference.
Generally it’s agreed the best way to stop piracy is by offering a more convenient alternative. I generally for example don’t pirate video games available on Steam. With streaming services being so disjoint and expensive now I’ve gone back to pirating, at least with cable you can bundle channels.
Have they considered writing code that does build? (I’m joking to be clear)
They were using Proton, so most likely X11 as their windowing system. I’m guessing they were using the default distro kernels as of November 15, 2023 (when they ran the benchmark), but I don’t think the article said for sure.
