There are words that describe sex. There are words that describe gender. And there are words that can be used as a shortcut for a combination of both.

For example (and if you don’t like my example substitute your own words): a masculine female is often called a tomboy or described as butch.

TERFs probably feel that the term woman is a shortcut for feminine females, and that those who aren’t female but are feminine are not Champagne, they are sparkling wine. And it’s easy to see why someone would be insulted by that opinion. Strictly speaking, being told “you’re not a woman” isn’t necessarily an attack, or stating that you shouldn’t exist. But yes (obviously!) people with extreme views jump onto that bandwagon and are willing to kill/oppress to make everyone the same cuz they can’t handle weird people.

Yes, trans people are weird (queer means weird!). But weird isn’t bad, and people who think weird is bad are not people I would want to hang out with, even if they also happen to be trans. Pride is about pride: own your weirdness.

My Asus motherboard started bluescreening Windows. After a lot of effort I traced it down to a specific device ID that windows was loading firmware for. No matter what I tried I couldn’t get this auto installation to stop. It was a totally random component that added nothing I could tell.

Asus refused to release new firmware be cause the motherboard was “unsupported” even though the box etc has stickers saying it supports windows 10.

After a ton more effort I figured out how to make some low end api calls that eventually stopped this auto installation. It was mostly reliable. I got to crack a lot of jokes to my friends about my motherboard not supporting windows but it was a really hard period for me particularly because Linux gaming wasn’t as strong as it is today. I was really big into league of legends at the time and this experience forced me to quit, losing touch with many friends in the process.

Right so if we are to believe the comment in the OP (I skimmed the article but didn’t see anything to support it), the law ignores conception date. So if you get pregnant three weeks after your period and it takes you another three weeks to even notice you’re pregnant, it’s already too late to abort. Doctor fudging the conception date doesn’t matter, you have to lie about period date.

The fact it’s not based on conception date is so telling. Took 5 weeks since conception for morning sickness to trigger and suspect pregnancy, and another couple weeks to book the appointment and do the abortion.
