Bleh. Late 90s I was a mobile pc tech and I could have used these gloves back then on some computers. People are gross.

Just had a conversation with someone on this last weekend. They’re what I call someone dependent on corporate daycare. They need to be working or they lack self value. Their boss is an ass, hardly works and this guy thinks he’s slacking at 12 hours a day (exaggerated only a little).
What are you doing that is so important? Is it saving someone’s life? Life changing cancer drugs? No no, it’s a PowerPoint that shows the progress on the projects of equally less important tasks that is only making your boss look good.
And the fucker still thinks he’s not WORKING HARD ENOUGH!!

Good news. I’m now working 5 jobs that just magically appeared. Time to fire more people telling the political false truth!!

No. Send help

So they’ll never “see” the damage they did? Heh
Yeah, sorry. Nerded out there for a sec on description. I don’t remember the lag that much, doom was ok. I think we all upgraded to 10Base-T ethernet (you remember the bnc stuff) after playing quake and host tended to have the gaming advantage. A few of us worked at a pc repair shop, so we could source (aka borrow) the parts if we couldn’t afford to buy them.
A few laters Quake world came out, someone finally popped for a hub and we all had 100mbit cards installed. But around then, we got @HOME in my neighborhood and gamespy was my new friend. I hated hauling my whole setup once a month after a year or so.
Token Ring is a network protocol where a token—a small data packet—circulates around a ring topology, allowing only the device holding the token to transmit data, thus avoiding collisions. We played Doom and Quake.
Does anyone remember the exit came command? Legit done playing this release, it’s not fun anymore.
Seriously, 20 years from now we’ll all look back at this and go “wow, that was some crazy shit”
I remember getting a copy of linux from my friends at a local LAN party (though it was tokenring party for us) around ‘96. 2 floppy disks. I’m 99% sure it was slackware.

Who’s going to stop him?

Oh, good. I was worried we might actually get to keep a platform free of garbage. Whew. Can’t wait for all those conspiracy nuts to join in too!

Seriously, if someone would just off Putin, that’d be great. Let Russia fall into a little civil war as smaller leaders fight amongst themselves for the scraps.

I hate to add to the conspiracy, but I know my eye doctor uses a 3rd party which has sections of their hipaa privacy acceptance which allows them to use your info to sell you ads if you don’t decline. Phreesia, is the 3rd party company. Now add the other apps that track your location… time spent there…
and I know my grocery store does the same when you use the discounts. and worse, they have facial recognition so I can’t even opt out (kroger).
Your issue was likely a combo of that.

My divorce was the second best thing to happen to me. First was my Ex, informing me she was getting married again 4 more days). I will end up paying 8 months of alimony (maintenance) and no longer owe her anything ever again.

I can go days without. But I spend maybe 2-4 hours a day. Sadly I work remote, so I get bored. But during holidays and staycations, I hardly pick up my phone, let alone a laptop. 30. 30 is my addiction number.

Yep. This is the new answer. Either buy a model assured to have jailbreak and replace the stock privacy nightmare; or spend more $$$ on a dumb tv.

Before eSIM, tmobile global data and text in 150 countries was the dream for my 5x trips a year. Now I just pop into the Eu and pick up a prepaid month European esim and spend €20+€15 additional month vs the $200 a year I was spending. Italy even has a deal in the summer now for €15 for 30 days.

Yeah, that was a typo and my experience is limited towards the AWS side which is also facing this issue. But the numbers are there, some people have been at Amazon for a decade, so 20 months (if they had MY package of 2mos per year). Amazon was throwing everything at new hires, because they were making bank on their work.
Everyone has a breaking point. Amazingly she had enough only after all that. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
