2·21 days agoFixed 35, but with the larger sensor it’ll behave more like a 28mm full frame.
I brought the RF up just because of its size. Those other GFX cameras are absolute units once they have a lens on.

Technology@lemmy.world•What if the Internet Goes Down? - 15 Jan, 7PM CETEnglish
49·1 month agoWeird, I work and get bread and I’ve got one, and my family members all have one. And most forms of communication need at least two people last I checked.
Is it our primary form of communication? No. But if cell towers go down we’re all within range of sending a text. If I lived in a city I’d definitely have one. It’s a stupid cheap insurance policy. But by all means, depend fully on your cell provider for communication.
Here’s something fun for you: Look up Kessler syndrome. If we were to lose control of our satellite networks for 24 hours, there’s a 30% chance it causes a chain reaction to where we lose the ability to even launch satellites without first cleaning up all the space debris. That time window shrinks with each new launch.

82·1 month agoSurveillance both overt and covert backed up off site and with battery backup. Guard dogs.
Those two will make people pause. But let’s say someone says fuckit they’re coming in anyway. And you want more than your typical 2A stuff?
There’s a lot you can do now with facial recognition and stepper motors. Chemical deterrence. Visual/thermal deterrence. Pretend you’re Kevin Mccallister.
Above all that, be tight with your neighbors. Community, community, community.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•JD Vance’s team had water level of Ohio river raised for family’s boating tripEnglish
451·6 months agoI’m a regular kayaker. This makes zero sense. The Ohio is huuuuge. There’s nothing to be gained by raising a river so large in a kayak other than the flex of doing it.
We’re not talking about some of the shallower rivers with rapids that you might bottom out on in sections during dry spells. This is a deep, wide river.
