Idk about lemmygrad but hexbear isn’t inherently political. Hexbear hosts the largest trans and em_poc communities of Lemmy.

‘Man’ isn’t ‘designated’ to anything. We just exist and are sentient and able to think about what we would like our lives to look like. Most people would like to live a life beyond working 40 hours a week on a job they don’t enjoy and where they have no say in anything. We have enough resources to make sure everyone has a home and food and can live a fulfilling life, if only those resources were divided in a fair way.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you deal with the inexorable march of time?
11·2 years agoPeople need to face the reality that currently for a lot of people it’s just not possible to escape the reality of living in financial distress and on the edge of homelessness their whole lives. Just because you know of some lucky people who were able to escape it doesn’t mean that it’s possible for everyone. It’s really demeaning to tell people to ‘work harder’ or ‘change it up’ ‘you’ll get there!’. Because you’re implying that it’s their fault if it doesn’t get better.
The only way to change this reality is to change the system we live in, and to stop letting rich people rule our economies and thus our lives.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you deal with the inexorable march of time?
511·2 years agoThat’s great advice in a society where most people don’t need several jobs to survive.
China’s top 1% income share is lower than US and Russia. Top 10% income share is also lower in China.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Loving someone while not condoning their actions?
24·2 years agoIt doesn’t because the child will carry the trauma with her into adulthood. Literally just ask the people who’ve been through those kinds of relationships on the victim side and you’ll know that this is a horrible situation.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Loving someone while not condoning their actions?
41·2 years agoThat’s the case for parents of a victim. The son in this case is the perpetrator and as a parent op can do something, which is denouncing the relationship. Protecting the 16 yr old is more important that the relationship between the perpetrator and his parent.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Loving someone while not condoning their actions?
56·2 years agoIt’s gross because the only reason a 29 yr old adult would have a relationship ship with a 16 yr old is because the 16 yr old is easy to manipulate. A 29 yr old and a 16 yr old have no life experiences in common, the whole relationship relies on the inequal power dynamic. The fact that he chose to have a relationship with a 16 yr old is already proof that he’s taking advantage because any sensible adult that cares about the wellbeing of the 16 yr old would never do that.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Loving someone while not condoning their actions?
2210·2 years agoThat’s gross and as a parent you have the responsibility to tell him it’s gross. Don’t normalise this relationship.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Berlin Police Brutalize Women on International Day Against Violence Against Women ProtestEnglish
105·2 years agoPolice violence on peaceful pro Palestine protesters is an every day thing in Germany, most media won’t report on it. This protest ended in police violence because the organisers were a minority group that also organises anti genocide protests.
If you’re disabled like OP calling the police is dangerous. They will not understand OP’s disability and will make them do stuff that will harm them. It’s better to look for local mutual aid organisations specialised in people with disabilities.
Those are very rare as most villages have been adapted to be accessible for cars. I’m just saying that stating that French villages are carfree is not true, and the average French village definitely shouldn’t be the model for bike and pedestrian friendly urban design.
Most French villages are very car centred.
Not true. It might be that people with illnesses that cause a higher risk of heart attacks can also make it more difficult for them to go out and meet people due to low mobility or chronic pain or fatigue.
‘A system that counteracts those selfish tendencies’ you mean a system in which:
- housing is not controlled by companies with no moral incentive to keep them liveable and affordable?
- people don’t learn from a young age that their value is directly connected to their willingness to fuck people over for money?
- there is no monetary incentive to create artificial deficits in essential goods like housing and food?
- the whole economy is not based on ‘cheap labour’ and the illegal extraction of minerals from other countries?
Where in Europe do you consider islam to be more than a ‘cultural category like Christianity’? Most European countries have large Christian conservative political parties that are preventing trans people from getting the medical care they need and women from having ownership of their bodies when they’re pregnant.
As a trans person fundamentalist Christians are a much bigger threat to me than fundamentalist muslims. I experience solidarity from muslims who know what it’s like to be marginalised and discriminated against. There are muslim people who would like to restrict my determination over my own body, but there are way more Christians in my country who would like to do the same and they pose and actual threat to me.
Wanting to ban mosques, the quran and muslim clothing like niqabs sounds pretty fascist to me (that’s what the biggest political party in The Netherlands wants). Thinking the European far right (that is rapidly gaining grounds) isn’t fascist or fascist leaning is a wild take.

politics @lemmy.world•Ted Cruz's secret playbook found in Senate refectory — and posted online
111·2 years agoThe system gets what it breeds… When fundraising is so important you will automatically get congress members with no integrity who already had rich friends or who have great ass kiss abilities. This is just another symptom of the failing of ‘democracy’ that’s bound to happen in a society with class inequality. The dominating class will always use their means to turn the odds in favour of their own needs.

I go to hexbear for the trans mega because it’s much more lively than any trans com in blahaj. Hexbear has 3 times as many users as blahaj and about half of its users is not cis. So yeah hexbear likely has a larger trans community
