Not sure why I laughed so hard when I read “kith”, I get it but don’t see why it’s so funny to me, yet my body felt like it was what it had to do

I heard they are adding a desktop mode to android 16, curious if it would be possible to use phone and have a similar experience to an actual PC by connecting monitor and mouse/keyboard, well just using a browser, at the very least.
EDIT: found it
Future updates will also bring even more productivity enhancements to Android, allowing you to connect tablets and phones to an external display for an expanded desktop experience

I still need it for 2 games I like to play on my phone, maybe other things too, it was only recently that I started slowly moving away from being dependent on google
Shady_Shiroe@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Cut Data Center Energy by 30% with This Simple Hack - IEEE SpectrumEnglish1·2 months agoHonestly, even if you need some Google services, just get things like gapp (or whatever its called, forgot) and you are good to go.
I want to try GrapheneOS, but no one I know owns any old (or new) pixel device and compiling and running as emulator (like for developing purposes) requires like 500gb of storage on PC for it.
PostMarketOS sounded fun but I couldn’t get waydroid to start without crashing

Shady_Shiroe@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify Wrapped 2024 controversy explained — what you need to knowEnglish41·7 months agoI switched to Spotube because none of the music apps even have most of the weird songs I listen too, but I still have spotify only for podcasts because there aren’t any platforms that have all the ones I listen too and I’m not looking into finding new ones.
I also don’t want to have 10 apps for 1 podcast each, the closest replacement would be YT music but in their infinite wisdom they combined accounts across videos and music, I don’t want to see followed music artists in my subscriptions on the video app and I’m not paying for 2 premium accounts to keep them separate.
Also apple podcast & music sounds like it might be enough, but I’m now switching to iOS only for podcasts, I like my sideloaded apps thank you.
Sorry I had to vent as this as been pissing me off for a long while.
Glitched/bug machines are the best in games, I used to enjoy Reid Captain on YT when he would use some physics bending engine to move so fast it’s basically like teleportation.
Yeah pacman is a fun game and the wiki for it is great /s
