Shit you should try drugs. You might get REALLY into the idea that all this is not real depending on what you try.

For real you’ve got to keep it tight until you really know someone. Don’t go telling everyone you smoke weed or something like that. You could do something completely innocent, someone takes it personally, and next thing you know you’re up for a random drug test.

I get it. I had been messing with computers for years by the time I had a typing class. I was very fast with the method I came up with, and I tried home row. I ended up combining bastardized home row and my homebrew method and got even faster.

I’ll keep this in mind, but that onboard RJ45 is doing great.

I did not. They are terrible with computers, especially the 15 year old boy. I debloated the computer I gave him less than a year ago. He downloaded so much malware and spyware. I got it all fixed up and he told me it wasn’t running games fast anymore since he switched bedrooms. I’m proud of him for setting it up again himself but he had the HDMI plugged into the onboard graphics instead of the GPU.

Yeah fuck cursive. Bury it in a dump and then set the dump on fire. My handwriting now is mostly regular, with cursive flourishes and joined letters here and there that I picked up. My handwriting is terrible for what that’s worth. I want to go fast like a keyboard and it ends up looking bad.

These kids are older, 21, 15, and 14. They’re such cool little shits. The younger two were stuck on Minecraft or specifically videos of adults playing Minecraft and screaming like fucking idiots. I’ll never understand the appeal.

The youngest, I taught to play Superhot with mouse and keyboard and she was a total natural at age 11. Jealous of that neuroplasticity for sure.

They used to beg to come stay with us on the weekend. I loved it, but many times we just didn’t have the energy after working all week, so we said no. Now they don’t want to hang out with us at all, which is sad. So it goes.

I use an in-house tool to connect to equipment over Ethernet for the company my company contracts for. Built in Ethernet is so good for it and getting very hard to find. When it was time for a new laptop my boss was able to find a decent one with built in Ethernet. I even offered to pay the difference in price.

I used two USB dongles in the past and it seems like they worked when they wanted to. It’s most likely a software issue because the in-house tool is garbage.

Has the keyboard and mouse versus controller argument finally died? I mean I use a controller for things like Elden Ring and keyboard and mouse for first person or tactics/strategy games.

We proved twenty years ago that keyboard and mouse was better for first person gaming and I was still hearing arguments that controllers were better five years ago.

That’s great. It seems like Gen Z didn’t learn typing. Maybe I’m over generalizing, but my three niblings can’t type for shit. The only things they know about computers are what I’ve taught them and then what they learned outside of school using the computers their mom and I got them.

Lowest common denominator interface is definitely touch screen, then maybe game controllers but I love those for some games.

You will be able to be evaluated as an adult. I have other brain problems, and when I went to my psychiatrist she said in house evaluation wouldn’t be covered by my insurance. So I went to a hole in the wall joke of a facility, filled out forms, had a 5 minute intake then got put on what I now know is an out of date computer test.

They got back to me with a phone call. Asked about my job. I answered everything honestly. I was told that my job was too hard to be done by someone with ADD.

I complained to my doctor on our next telehealth. She recommended finding a new one. I did, on an online service. Message me if you want to know. I had a much more thorough experience with this service and a modern test. I am now being medicated and it has changed my life a little bit for the better.

Since I was a teenager I dreamed of a strategy game where you could zoom in so far you are in personal combat, but can zoom out to a tactical, or strategic, or higher level. Total War Warhammer is kind of this.

I’m my childish mind I imagined each fighter in a battle controlled by a human on both sides. Then you could rank up and determine tactics, succeed and you determine strategy.

This will never work of course, but to a naive mind in 1997 it seemed like the coolest new thing.

I don’t play games much anymore but when one grabs my attention I go hard. Hoping Stalker will be good.
