3·6 days agoCompanies think and make decisions in this way all the time, against consumer planned obsolescence is a fundamental part of their philosophy. Usually it is in ways that are too technical or esoteric for the general user to follow but here they have forgot themselves and made a play that is obvious to a great many of their customers.

What they do not see is who will buy the output and that those armies will determine no ultimate difference between the owners they are protecting and the population they are protecting them from.

21·13 days agoYour best guess is reasonable, I may have misremembered, it could have been A’ spoken as A dash and meaning the complement and I hallucinated the negative but I think I recall some noted confusion with the reciprocal x-¹ = 1/x.

42·13 days agoMy old statistics lecturer would write x-¹ as shorthand meaning everything that is not x, I thought it was in more common usage but perhaps not. I know it more generally means the reciprocal, he just expected you to know which he meant by context.
