If you have mortgage, why not pay lump sum regularly instead of saving it first? This way cost of mortgage will come down. Unless you have a fixed rate?

Maybe something creative, like making a poster in libre office?

I remember when i was 10-ish ms Word 97 was the shit. I liked to use word art to create and print my name and other texts. Children this age like to be creative if you show him a program and let him loose exploring it, he’ll learn a lot.

“should” generally means, what’s the best compromise. I don’t think an 18 year old is able to to support themselves. It’s reasonable to expect the kid to get a job, but at entry level he won’t be making much.

At 18 i was still in high-school. I wouldn’t be able to support myself even with a job. And nowadays rent is expensive, to the kid would be paying landlord with no hope of ever owning a home.

I think parents should support their children as long as they’re in education, whether its high school or college, so they can focus on learning without needing a job.

It’s not attention addiction. Note that it’s supposed to replace consumption with creative / problem solving activities. If you’re addicted to watercolors, at least you will be getting better at the craft. If you’re just consuming online content / doomscrolling you’re just wasting time.

It’ll be interesting to see the outcome. I personally don’t agree with that verdict. There should be copyright somewhere. It’s not like computer decides to make music on its own whim, like that monkey who snapped a selfie.

Does it matter whether music was generated by pressing keyboard keys, or typing a prompt? What if i write a program that makes an audio file by matching chords that work well together? What of chords and notes are randomly selected?

How about some AI music? You can make or download some in Suno, or Udio. There’s no copyright for AI generated music as far as u know, but may depend on jurisdiction

As long as you have the player and place to store them (that isn’t the garage or attic) , I don’t see why not.

Even if you rebase you can still recover the original commits until they are garbage collected. You are generally safe as long as the .git directory isn’t deleted, in which case your whole history is gone anyway.

Sounds like a flawed workflow, if this didn’t go through at least code review. Was it committed directly to master?

Curious to know what kind of system relies on hashed not changing? Technically the hashes don’t change, but a new set of commits is made. The history diverges, and you can still keep the old master if you need it for some time, even cherry pick patches to it…

Fedora does this too, it reboots to install updates…

Walkable means all you need is in reasonable walking distance.

I wouldn’t consider my neighbourhood to be particularly walkable as it’s a suburb (in Europe) but my library is about 15 mins walk away.

Sometimes the amenity you need isn’t in that walkable range, but cycling is a great alternative.
