  • I play too much path of exile for that to be acceptable sadly

The sheer glut of load zones means even a spinning disk is unacceptable. I literally saved over an hour in time over a weekend back in the day going from ddr3 to 4, and three hours over a weekend going from a spinning disk to a solid state.

And the games only gotten larger in the last few years…

Ddr3 is great! Till you have to deal with a lot of load zones. ):

  • Yeah but lumo is basically just a side gimmick thing that isn’t integrated with the rest of their suite.

It’s basically the equivalent of a self hosted small LLM that you don’t have to fuck around with setting up.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with LLMs as a tool. The problem is the misuse, misapplication and over scaling of them.

If they were all just one off tools like lumo that are basically slightly more advanced digital assistants they would be fine. LLMs are fantastic for quickly searching shit with crap discoverability for example. They routinely are more effective at finding random useful results in say reddit or stack overflow or even some weird forum on the 12th page of Google.

  • The three things I’ve found search engine LLMs to be useful for. Searching for laptop since it’s absurdly good at finding weird fucking regional models or odd configurations that arnt on the main pages of most shops.

Like my current laptop wasnt on newegg Amazon or even msi’s own shop. It was on a fucking random ass page on their website that nothing linked to and was some weird ass model that wasn’t searchable even.

The second most useful one was generating a metric crapload of boiler plate json files for a mod.

The third thing is bad dnd roleplaying while I’m bored at work. The hallucinations are a upside lol
