As a sys/netadmin married to a developer, I’ve met a lot of developers, and can confirm that most are fucking retards who shouldn’t be let anywhere close to a computer. A result of developer becoming an “in” profession where you could earn a lot of money with minimal education, and managers having no clue what a developer actually is or what good developer work looks like.
In my experience people don’t know about / use search in the start menu at all. They mostly ask someone on teams if they can email them the file they need and then star that email. If a program is not pinned to the startbar then it might as well not exist. The workforce today is not computer-literate.

I’ve had an acquaintance express actual anger at me for questioning the output of Grok. Granted, the man is one of the dumbest people I know, but I’m still concerned. No one’s immune to being psychologically manipulated, even if you’re aware of it happening. People who think they’re friends with bikini-streamers even less so.
Meta, Alphabet and Microsoft are all criminal organisations who has been found guilty of multiple crimes and shows no sign of remorse or change of behaviour. Shareholders and employees with these companies should be held accountable, if not legally, then socially.

Yup. Those Hikvision cameras are way too cheap for their performance, and call home an awful lot unless segmented and rained in properly (no internet access at all, preferably air-gapped). Installed a ton of them in a school (one of those for profit private schools that are more like gang recruiting offices than schools).
Wouldn’t touch those things privately but I can at least minimise the risk when dealing with them for work. Sure, the principals were a little upset that they couldn’t watch children from their laptop at home (!?), but luckily schools are staffed with the dumbest people I’ve ever met. They will not only believe any made up technobabble excuse, they will act like they know exactly what you’re talking about in order to seem smart.

The two topics dominating the news at the time in my country was: speculations about a possible Russian submarine stuck in our archipelago, and the sudden increase of beggars with handwritten signs after Romania and Bulgaria’s accession into the EU.
So naturally I went clubbing dressed like a Russian sailor, with a handwritten sign begging for money for plutonium “for make submarine back to motherland”. Complete with snorkling tube/mask and paper cup with some change to rattle at people. I left the club with more money than I came with, even after paying for all my drinks (redbull vodka all night of course).
I still like to do topical costumes or friend group in-jokes now that the parties are smaller and private. Too old for clubs nowadays.
Capitalism is about ownership more than anything else. Capitalism states that the means of production is private property and to be used for the purpose of obtaining profit. As long as there is profit, supply and demand can go fuck itself along with the workers (those who produce). It really is a stupid system that can never be fully implemented (every economy is a mixed economy for a reason) since it naturally creates perverse incentive.

I think they’ve been on the ball with spelling reforms as the language has evolved. The last one as recently as in 1996. English has no central authority for spelling, making such reforms much harder to implement. Conservatives are of course, like always, a problem. Being against any and all spelling reform. The main argument seem to be that it makes it harder for people to read really old texts in their original form. Which for some reason makes spelling and speach drifting apart worth it. I known Swedish conservative pseudo-intellectuals often praise the English for it’s lack of reform.
As someone from an historically ridiculously stable country, seeing the brakeup of the U.S, Russia and even China into many warring states would be peak morbid entertainment. More likely to happen in Russia and China though as they’re more culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse (despite their insane attempts to project the opposite).
