If they actually go through with this, I think this is proof that they fully believe their own hype. This is the ultimate short term win that will cause long term devastation. It’ll damage European economic hegemony and reputation in a way that nothing else really could, and it would be entirely self-inflicted, and for no real benefit at all. It won’t turn the tides of the war or anything, it’ll delay the inevitable for maybe another 6 months at most, and completely ruin Europe’s ability to financially control other nations permanently.

It would be nice if the US would heed this warning, but they’ll just double down.
