Ah yes, they claim it’s “for your convenience”, “keep shopping!”, “any order you place in (x # of) days will ship for free with this order”. I’m perfectly fine with it, honestly; I online shop exclusively in the slow lane. Free, but slow, shipping? Fine by me. 🐌

It just takes some forethought, some planning, and yeah maybe some “going without” for just a few days. But it can be done! Fuck Bezos.

Well, the 2-Day shipping guarantee was fucking destroyed through pandemic/online shopping & stimmy checks. We just hit crazy peaks of rampant consumerism & the guarantee couldn’t easily be honored.

It’s not good for the car, either. Cars aren’t meant to idle; cars are made to have all fluids moving & the car rolling down the road.

I treat my car to a gentle warm-up when it’s cold outside; I start the car & start driving, but only 20-30 mph for the first 5-8 minutes. All the components of the car are gently being used, are slowly warming up, together. I think my car runs better for it.

I encourage you to think about dropping Prime. Saving your money. Their shipping really isn’t that great (anymore), most orders $35 or more ships free, and the money you save ($14/15 per month) can go towards your purchases.

The program itself isn’t absurd, but Amazon is a bunch of fucking clowns. I only expect them to fail in the world of logistics. But they’re so big & everybody keeps giving them their money, they can do whatever they want, poorly, forever. They fail ‘up’.

Drone delivery is indeed part of the future of logistics. They just need to make the drones more robust to handle slightly bigger, heavier loads, like at least 10# would be great & a reasonable goal. Arm it with AI so it knows where to drop the payload. Etc etc. There are indeed a number of kinks to be worked out…and who better to crash & burn, learn on than Amazon? 🤡
