Dear readers,

Since most of our team is from post-Soviet states, we would like to honor the creator of the Flibusta project, Stiver. Flibusta is a free online library that provides access to Russian-language literature, allowing free exchange of literature among users.

On October 22, 2024, after a month of being treated for glioblastoma, which was unfortunately not curable, Stiver passed away through euthanasia.

Today we would like to honor the memory of Stiver, who shared the same goal of providing free access to knowledge. Same as Flibusta, Z-Library was created in 2009 with the mission of giving everyone the opportunity to read and learn, regardless of their financial status. This man was able to bring his idea to life and create a place where the words and thoughts captured in books could circulate freely.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a man who has been a true asset to the book world. His efforts have made knowledge available to all, helping countless people broaden their horizons and discover new worlds of inspiration.

His memory will live on in our hearts as a symbol of the endless possibilities of the written word, a world that is truly open to all. We must continue his work of spreading knowledge and culture, and may his good deeds inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Stiver. Your contribution to making the world a better place through access to knowledge is immeasurable!

Seriously though, I don’t think this sanitized version of Biden is instilling the confidence I need to move forward with him as our candidate.

So who next, folks? Let’s do this messy little thing called “saving democracy.”

But the simple fact remains that if one believes Biden cannot campaign or debate successfully, then he cannot run the country presently. The Constitution contemplates a scenario in which someone would need to take the place of a president who is so diminished, and that someone is the vice president. Biden should step aside from both the campaign and the presidency, and allow Harris to take her best shot at saving the country from those who would destroy it.

A really good take on how Harris could provide an opportunity to draw a stark contrast between the Nazi…I mean, Republican party and a peaceful transition of power in a functional democracy.

It’s fine if Biden doesn’t want to play by the new rules – admirable in fact – but we have to understand that this is the game we’re playing now. Either learn to play the game or take your ball and go home.

To us, it feels like you’re all being idealists and thinking that everyone thinks like you. News flash: they don’t. The average American will look at Biden and either decide not to vote or vote for the other guy.

I don’t care where you decide to group us, but please try to understand there are people trying to win this election and keep fascism from overtaking this country and those people might have a different approach that is worth considering.

In the eternal words of Mike Tyson, “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” Biden’s debate performance was a punch in America’s face.

I agree that we need a NEW plan, but we cannot just stick to the old plan and old candidate, simply because somebody’s feelings might get hurt. We have not yet held either convention, so there is time to find and coalesce around a new candidate.

No one is saying this situation is ideal, but considering the recent SCOTUS rulings and geopolitical sentiments, we cannot just continue to ignore that something is undeniably wrong with Biden.

And what you’re doing isn’t helpful either. We can’t just ignore what is happening and continue to push forward with an obviously problematic candidate.

The Dollar Store dictator is dead even with the dementia patient – this is not acceptable. Any alternative candidate (for either party) would be a massive improvement, at this point. Stop denying it.

Someone who can speak. Clearly and effectively, if possible.

I’m deeply understanding and sensitive to people with speech impediments. The debate (and, let’s be honest, any time he speaks without a prompter) was embarrassing and concerning. I’m voting D no matter what and I’m not looking for a great president, but we can’t afford to be nostalgic. Democracy can’t afford it.

Folks. It’s over. I’m a big fan of democracy and fully understand what we’re up against, but it’s time to take Biden out back and put him down with at least some semblance of honor.

AOC is earning my vote.
