You can’t say lesser evilism got us here when we chose the greater evil in the election before last. If we kept voting lesser evil maybe, but we don’t consistently. Not nearly enough to make the greater evil not think they stand a chance without lessening themselves.
Citizens united is horrible, but what I think they are talking about is a little different and also bad. Arguably addressed directly in the constitution but the SC doesn’t care. This isn’t lobbying, these are emoluments from foreign governments as far as I can tell.
But then you need to specify if it’s the civil fraud case in new york or the criminal fraud case in new york.

That’s fair, and I’m sure many of those politicians in both parties have committed it as well. However the subject of the article has committed vast amounts of it. I think that’s worth mentioning. He’s the subject of the article after all.

I’m not a lawyer, but double jeopardy is applied when a jury finds a verdict. There is such a thing as a mistrial. If the jury hangs there is a mistrial, and I don’t believe a dismissal is an acquittal just because there are jurors in seats.
We had a tool that answered all of this for us already and more accurately (most of the time). It was called a search engine. Maybe Google would work on one

The quote he made up reeks of lost cause mentality. The idea that Lee lost because his generals didn’t follow his grand wisdom has been around since right after the war. There was a southern journalist who lost a defamation case to a general he claimed didn’t adhere to orders. I think some lost cause circles still bring it up. Despite winning the case the guy was military not pr, and didn’t know how to use the money to repair his reputation from a guy who professionally spreads information (disinformation in this case).
It wouldn’t be in Texas’s jurisdiction. The president should not be above the law. If I would be prosecuted then so should he.
