Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineto Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•MAGARegrets is Trending!English21·4 months agoI’m Canadian. Fucking do your jobs down South and RIDICULE THEM.
My fucking country is getting annexation threats because of these fucks, and y’all are all out here talking about unity with these good-for-nothing morons while your unity with my country degrades. All this unity talk has EVER done is steer American politics further and further right. Get a damn grip.
Enough with this false togetherness bullshit. Shun these people so hard that they never show their face again, can never get employment again, and give a second thought to doing so much as living. If there’s anything Americans seem to be experts at, it’s giving fuck all for consequences to the people who deserve them the most.

Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Zero Waste@lemmy.ml•Is using canned beans more environmentally friendly than using dried ones?English1·7 months agoRight, thanks for noting that. I remember working in grocery they’d often receive product in plastic wrap to keep it stable on the skids.
Mind you with my experience in the back of the store, while I never worked receiving, I’m fairly certain both the canned and dried beans both arrived to the store the same way, as it was usually an assortment of boxes rather than a skid purely of one product unless it was a feature or display.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Zero Waste@lemmy.ml•Is using canned beans more environmentally friendly than using dried ones?English4·7 months agoWould you say this would likely still be the case if it was domestic? For reference if it helps I’m in Canada, and I can’t say I know where exactly in the country the beans I buy are grown and canned. Could be in Ontario for all I know which is essentially across the country for me.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Zero Waste@lemmy.ml•Is using canned beans more environmentally friendly than using dried ones?English2·7 months agoI would probably call myself a purist. Then again, I think that’s fairly easy for me since off hand, the biggest source of waste I can think of in my case is likely food waste currently, and I’m trying to improve on that since I’m relatively new to regular home cooking, and am in the middle of a major diet change.
Worst case scenario if the recycling of the cans does have considerable emissions, I could also probably purchase carbon offsets, mind you I need to read more about those and how they work and that would be for when I’m in a better financial situation.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Zero Waste@lemmy.ml•Is using canned beans more environmentally friendly than using dried ones?English3·7 months agoThere are, but I’m in a unique situation with program I’m in where I’m only able to shop at a certain grocer as I currently get gift cards to assist with grocery shopping.
Would these be similar to the packages for rice you find at the store? I’ve heard about people bringing their own stuff to the bulk section, but I wouldn’t have a clue if that’s allowed where I live since I’ve only recently learned that that’s something people do. Growing up I don’t my family used the bulk section of the store so much as once.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Zero Waste@lemmy.ml•Is using canned beans more environmentally friendly than using dried ones?English1·7 months agoSorry, I should have made it clear. Yes they appear to be a non-recyclable plastic package for the brands sold at the grocers I visit.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Which privacy-friendly search engines have advanced search functionalities similar to those Google provides?English1·8 months agoTaking a look at Swisscows right now. My only concern with them is that I know they filter out sites with adult content, and I do have worries on how that’s applied to results with explicit song lyrics or album covers.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Which privacy-friendly search engines have advanced search functionalities similar to those Google provides?English3·8 months agoI gave this a shot since I do like and trust Mojeek, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear to bring in any results when I use the search “site:bandcamp.com attribution non-commercial share alike” (not in quotes).
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineOPMto NC-SA Bops@feddit.online•CIALYN - Derelict Station [Ambient] (2015)2·9 months agoOh yeah, talking about non NC-SA tracks is completely fine, don’t even worry about it!
I gotta give Aphex Twin a quick listen sometime, I know buddy of mine listens to them a lot.
Binzy_Boi@feddit.onlineMto NC-SA Bops@feddit.online•Teleidofusion - Fat Cat Wants Tasty Fish [Chiptune/Rock] (2010)English2·9 months agoThis hits a sweet spot for me since it reminds me of the days I’d play games on the Sega Master System.
Not old enough for when the console was released, but Boys & Girls Club I went to had a console donated to them and it was great. Thanks for sharing!
It’s not federated by any means, but if you want to replace FANDOM wikis with other equivalents, Indie Wiki Buddy is a great extension to have on hand.
https://getindie.wiki/
There’s options to remove FANDOM from search results in favour of other options, and they also allow you to redirect to the Breezewiki frontend for FANDOM to get rid of all those shitty ads and UI, which is legal considering the contents of FANDOM pages are still under the Commons.
