I only buy books from thriftbooks. Haven’t seen any slop books there yet. And there’s just something about a well worn book. They are just more fun to read.

I only check FB at home. I have a separate Firefox profile just for it. Using Pihole. I almost never see ads. Maybe one or two will slip by. But I only spend maybe 10min on the site. 1-2 times a week.

In my experience, most servers encrypt the data transmitted. So, they can see you are connected, they can see how much data you are using, but they can’t see what that data is. For all they know, you are downloading every Linux ISO in existence and nothing more. In the US at least, unless a service accepts cash or bitcoin (some do) it’s not really anonymous but most are pretty secure. I’ve paid for usenet for probably 20 years now. No issues.

I haven’t watched it since he was on youtube. I only watched Billy Corgan and Elmo episodes. Both made me realize these men were awful awful people. I still like the Smashing Pumpkins music though.

it’s funny (not haha funny) you should mention a stroke. I had thought of that honestly. She had a couple of concussions at her job. Once while we were dating, she was knocked out cold. I noticed a few changes after that but nothing that would make me think she would drop her whole life and just move one day without a word. Mostly just short term memory issues. The brain is a weird thing.

My car is a 2009. I’ll be keeping it for the foreseeable future. I’m pretty handy, so as long as the engine doesn’t wreck itself (interference engine), I’ll just keep changing out parts, oil, fluids, etc…

radio.garden is a pretty neat project. They have radio stations from all over the world. I also follow some DJs and music nerds on Mastodon.

groove salad and lush have been my go to for years. I just bought some CD’s from them too!

Could be an Oklahoma thing. In my state, you can just run it in the local paper if you don’t have an address. They have 30 days to respond. OK is pretty backwards when it comes to women’s rights though.

met a girl, lovely, funny, just a joy to be around. We dated for almost 3 years. Blissful and regular sexy fun times. Bought her the most beautiful engagement ring. IT support for a non-profit. We are a small IT dept so I do everything from installing printers to managing our network. I’ve been at this job for 20yrs. But worked in IT for 25ish.

I use keepassXC for passwords. One database. I organize by category. Shopping. Finance. Email. etc…
Then I sync that to my phone using syncthing. I have hundreds of entries and the database is still less than 1mb.
