I’d recommend reading Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do by Michael Sandell.
Also I haven’t read it myself yet but it sounds like The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris would probably be of interest to you as well.
The design is very human
Great recommendation. We Lost the Sea - Departure Songs is one of my all time favourite post rock albums as well.
Oh my god he just ran in
If I see someone in the right turning lane with their right indicator on, I assume they are about to turn right.
If I see someone in the right turning lane but they have their left indicator on, I assume they want to leave the turning lane.
If I see someone in the right turning lane without their indicator on, I assume they are probably going to turn right but they may have made a mistake or changed their mind, so I’m more cautious if I’m passing or try to leave room for them to get out if appropriate. This is the most annoying situation for me because I have less information to guess what they might do next.
Sorry, I’m probably missing something because I don’t see how that would help if the government is not open to feedback. As a concrete example let’s say you strongly oppose the anti secession law from 2005 and believes it should be abolished or reworked entirely. Is there an avenue for working towards bringing about such a radical policy change within the government as a citizen?
It’s good that those resources exist. What if it’s a policy that the government is not open to feedback on?
As a citizen, what’s the most effective way for you to bring about change on a government policy you don’t agree with?
English, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin
Do you get the headaches?
The realisation about the person you were with would be awful by itself let alone worrying about possibly being in immediate danger, holy shit. I’m glad you’re safe now
You would have the plaintext password at login time based on the users input. I’m guessing that’s why it happens at login time rather than proactively asking people to update their passwords.
I’m Aussie. For me friendliest countries probably Taiwan, Ukraine and Canada
Cold showers are for the weak, scalding showers are for true warriors.
No no… negative three
I don’t think it’s necessary to strictly avoid it by any means, it’s quite a useful tool. You just have to use it appropriately, similar to stack overflow in some ways. That said, obviously you should use / avoid whatever tools as you want.
Mining on a planet/moon in Star Citizen. Very chill, you get some beautiful views and monkey brain can see balance go up.
