Kraftklub are from Chemnitz. The Lada Niva has a cult following even here in the western part of Germany, so it must be even more intense over there.

They recently had a pretty good (IMHO) song with Kraftklub, so yeah, still active and way less commercial than you’d think.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I still think it could have worked. Greens and liberals aren’t natural enemies, climate reforms can be done via methods from the free market. A proper carbon certificate trade is still something I think could work wonders if done right and redistributing the acquired money to all citizens would have been in line with the social considerations of the SPD. This should have been the project of the traffic light coalition. Now we all now the liberals are a bunch of lying, opportunistic fucks, okay, but it could have worked if only they had tried.

The person I replied to was talking about learning the basics of a language… This isn’t about searching for something specific, this is about reading the very basic introduction to a language before trying to Google your way through it. Avoiding the basic documentation is always a bad idea. Replacing it with the LLMed version of the original documentation probably even more so.

Although this might get me downvoted, but killing wolves does solve that problem, so for farmers this is a way to go here and simply dismissing their pov doesn’t make it easier to convince them otherwise. There haven’t been wolves in central Europe for decades, so the environment seems to be able to deal with some more deer. I get the environmental reasons, but it’s not like the whole system immediately collapses without wolves. For farmers, this introduces a long solved problem because some city dwelling greens want to get their karma balanced without paying for it while they (the farmers) then have to deal with the consequences. Just providing money doesn’t address a lot of issues, as I explained above, and even if it did, it’s you, the farmer, who is knee deep in the insides of your gutted animal to clean up the mess, just to then end up in an annoying, overly complex bureaucratic process that may or may not result in some money being thrown at you by loafers wearing hipsters that think that this makes everything right. It doesn’t. My in-laws raised rejected or orphaned lambs with baby bottles in their living room. Do they later kill these sheep for a living? Yes. But they also seriously attempt to previously have them live a fulfilled and peaceful life, so having their whole flock panicking around a handful of violently gutted mother sheep while essentially being denied both, fair compensation and empathy for their situation does make them understandably bitter. And, to be honest, I’m pretty on board with the idea that wild wolves should fear proximity to humans and their herds, so shooting wolves that think that sheep or cows are an easier prey than deer isn’t such a one sided terrible idea as it is often made out to be here.

My in laws are shepherds. The situation isn’t as easy as you’d think. When some or their sheep were killed, they were denied compensation for a variety of bureaucratic reasons. Much worse than the uncompensated loss of some sheep was that the flock afterwards rejected the pasture, refusing to be led onto it again. Now they have a pasture they can only use to produce hay, which isn’t what they need, and need to rent additional space to let their sheep graze on, which they of course aren’t compensated for either. I can understand their anger, with the country not providing any compensation whatsoever (which people assume it does) and generally feeling left alone with a problem that they wouldn’t even have if it wasn’t for rather abstract environmental reasons.

In the end, I got an S23 which receives (presumably) four years of major revision support plus another two years of security patches, which is still much more than Sony is willing to promise.

I had an Xperia Z, which I was supposed to be able to patch with custom roms. Too bad that while that generally worked, Sony locked the camera to its own software which then fell back to a much inferior mode, meaning you had to decide between updates or shitty pictures, which was a deal breaker for me and had me update to an S10e back then.

The Xperia 5 is a skinny 6.1" & many consider it to be a small phone option in 2024.

I know. It’s still too big. I was this close to switching to apple just for their iPhone mini range, but that got discontinued as well. My S23 is something like 6 or 6.1 as well. It’s only usable because Samsung has a better one handed mode than default android or Apple.

Was going to get a Sony. Then I saw their update roadmap… 2 years of major updates and another one for security patches, that was it. Noped out because of that. I’d like a headphone jack and an sd card slot, but I’d like even more to keep such an expensive device for more than three years.

Also, their phones are too big, but that’s an issue for every single manufacturer.

Yeah, I anticipated that. Just digging my way through the lectures now and will then play single player against ai or preferably multiplayer against my kids.
