People can always find problems if they look hard enough, lol. There are probably some legitimate complaints about Lemmy, but nothing is perfect. I find their messaging weird though. Like, you can be pro Piefed without having to be anti Lemmy. Seems needlessly combative to me.

I will vouch for Speed Racer. Don’t get me wrong, it’s corny as heck, but still also rad. The race scenes are fantastic! Kind of like a Godzilla movie though, you’re not there for the dialogue.
It is an electric one, so a bit of an advantage over wood and string. The drone string is also doing a lot of lifting. Drones make almost any instrument better

I was involved in a very vicious street fight. It was incredibly violent and frantic, with blood everywhere. It was more of a free for all instead of me taking on like nine dudes. I’m not a violent person at all, so it was really distressing. Some big guy lifted me up and slammed me against a wall, so I reached out and gouged his eye with my thumb. It was awful. I could feel the shape, and it was all clammy. It was so against my regular self that I burst awake. I thought it was still going on though because I could still feel it on my thumb. Turns out my hand was in my shorts, and the clammy eyeball shape was a part of my male anatomy.
What do you want to say/see that you cannot? Which rule is rustling your jimmies the most?
I don’t have kids, so I don’t really have a dog in this fight. I think it’s reasonable to feel weird about someone doing something you’re not used to. So long as they’re happy, nobody is getting hurt, and nobody is a jerk about it, everything should be fine. Like, if both guys know about one another then cool, if she’s two-timing both then maybe a discussion needs to be had.
Bit of a tangent: It’s weird to me how against things like polyamory or swinging North American society seems to be. I’ve seen people talk about cheating with less confusion and apprehension. Is it so alien that more than two people can consensually enjoy each other’s company? Archie comics have been a staple here for years, and those crazy kids are deffo in a proto-polycule.

Jupiter Ascending is, in my opinion, a masterpiece. Bees can sense royalty? Fantastic. The bureaucracy android having to bribe his way through the system he was literally created to navigate? Marvelous. Don’t even get me started on the air roller skates. Eddie Redmayne’s four million year old teenager was perfection too. Two volume levels: harsh whisper or screaming.
It was marketed as some kind of amazing epic, so people approached it wrong I think. It was a Wachowski film. What were they expecting? I went in there assuming it’d be like their Speed Racer movie, but in space. I was not disappointed.

Yeah. Like, maybe I’m misinterpreting the ruling, but it sure seems like the mod thought the meme was sexist. For the life of me I just cannot understand that perspective. I was trying to explain my feelings towards the trope in a way that I hoped relatable or understandable to the common person. That’s what memes are for, lol.
In the original R&M scene Rick is literally the villain. He abuses his power of creation to make a machine seemingly capable of independent thought and feelings, and then condemns it to a menial existence. The humor is derived from empathizing with the poor little guy. That feels like a perfect metaphor for the refrigerator trope to me.
I could have instead posted a purely academic analysis of the trope, but that’s not exactly a meme is it?

I made a Rick and Morty butter robot meme. Rick was representing “Authors and Writers” while the robot represented “Strong Female Characters”. Rick told the robot to “get in the refrigerator” in reference to the Women in Refrigerators trope.
You could maybe argue that the meme is an example of the trope, but you’d have to be bad at memes or arguing.

I stand by my assessment though. It’s still weird to me to promote one thing by shooting down another. Feels too much like politics in North America to me. They could have made a “Support Piefed” community instead.
