The only time I have ever heard the word copacetic and only reason I know it exists is because of a song that probably only dinosaurs and hipsters listen to anymore: Bound For The Floor.

Other than that, I’ve never heard it used in any context. So I’mma agree that it’s definitely an old person word ( or a pretentious “I’m BeTtEr ThAn YoU” kinda word ).

They may be dead, but we still have some amazing alternative OS’s that exist that, as far as I’m aware, are still being updated. First thing that came to my mind was AROS ( Amiga Research Operating System that had to change the name to AROS Research Operating System ).

I personally don’t use it since I don’t use Amiga software, but it’s still really cool. Under no circumstances would I recommend it as a daily driver because any software based around Amiga is purely hobby at this point, but it’s still cool to check out.

Closest I can think of was maybe a little less than 2 decades ago now. I vaguely remember it, but some time after my grandpa had died, our landline got a call. I was in the room with my grandma and mother and my mom went to get the phone. There was no number, but instead just his name. Pretty sure she answered, but nobody replied. The line was dead.

My mom swears it was something like my grandpa, in the afterlife, calling to tell us that everything’s gonna be okay despite his recent passing, but I don’t buy into that kinda religious spiritual stuff

Other than that, I have memories from when I was younger that I cannot confirm or deny because the only people I know who might have an answer probably wouldn’t remember and I’d feel real weird asking them about these memories completely out of the blue. One is me supposedly going on a trip with the family of one of my older brother’s friend’s family to a city/town ( don’t remember name ) in a nearby county ( name not included for obvious reasons ) in the same state and me being in the basement in a house we stopped at for some reason. That’s a very vague memory. Same with an unconfirmed memory where I swear I went with the mother of this friend to some berry picking place and was stuck in their van once we got back to their place, with nobody coming to help me get out. Very vaguely remember that I couldn’t open the van door for some reason. I’d probably chalk that one up to me being a kid and time moving by relatively slow from my perspective, making it seem like forever when it was probably just a couple minutes of me trying to get out.

Both vague and highly unconfirmed, but I am more concerned about the memory of a mystery road trip that I somehow ended up involved in that my parents don’t remember. Wouldn’t expect them to since they weren’t there, but the fact they don’t remember this supposed trip happening adds to the mystery.

Calabash Brothers ( the original from either the 70s or 80s, can’t remember which decade ). Still looking for the series that came after ( and also the 2010s version ) with ENG subtitles just to see how insane they are in comparison.

Original contains death in a couple different ways at least, and some weird scenes like one of the characters losing their powers by essentially having magic strike his eyes or 2 characters that look like minors ( but probably aren’t ) getting drunk and passing out off of magically conjured wine.

Out of the ones I’ve seen, The Cat Returns. It’s not the most cinematic, amazing, fantastical movie like Spirited Away, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, etcetera, but it’s one I really like regardless.

Though, if we’re talking about the opposite, Earwig and the Witch is at the very bottom.

If we’re talking strictly the games, just a about any place from gens 8 and 9 because they’re either sparsely populated in a way makes them way too hollow, boring, and pathetic, or you can’t even interact with what little NPCs or majority of the buildings that are in the town, which leads to the same problems. To me that’s more depressing than any lore could ever build for a town.

Though, that’s only my opinion, as I would much rather prefer things like gen 1-4 where every single city/town you can enter just about every single building and talk to the NPCs and they’ll have a line or two of unique dialogue that really helps me feel like the world is lived in by people and not NPCs.

I haven’t been playing it much, but Chuzzle Deluxe and Mahjong (the match 2 tiles, clear board version).

I don’t know the exact specific version of Mahjong my grandma used to have on her laptop because it’s generic and has 3 trillion different clones/versions of it, but the reason I haven’t gotten rid of the KDE version on my laptop is because it reminds me, in a way, of a long time ago when I’d spend time with her. Same with Chuzzle.

I had a pretty good time earlier on my laptop just spending a little bit of time in the zen chuzzle mode and it was great. 10/10 would recommend.

I also learned earlier today that there was a Christmas skinned version and there’s a non-EA Chuzzle 2 mobile game out, but as of now the Christmas version isn’t available ( as of May 15, 2025 ) unless you pirate it.

Take out all the people and creatures trying to kill you along the way and I feel like a walk down the intended route from Goodsprings to New Vegas would be fun enough and fairly pleasant. Otherwise, it’s a survival game nightmare I wouldn’t win, no matter how you slice it.

And if you’d consider Yooka-Laylee open world, the full first book you enter would be fun to stroll all over in for a short while. Especially since the majority of the enemies look like little pushovers.

Wouldn’t matter for people who still don’t really have access, but I’m taking a page out of supervirus Daemon’s book and telling everyone the web has been 100% infected and that they only have a short amount of time before it deletes itself permanently.

For some plans I have, a WIP supervillain I’m working on would be amazing. The main hero and his rival villain basically are normal people who have another person from another dimension fused in their bodies that allow them to transform into their superhero/villain forms. The best part about it is how when the transformation occurs, it’s basically instant and so long as nobody sees it in person, nobody can figure out you’re the transformed person. I have so far planned out that people seeing the transformation through the very rare security camera footage on universe would wonder why you suddenly disappeared and in your place is the transformed, so no need to hide from security cameras (even though you probably should just in case).

Would absolutely love to become the villain because he becomes an anthro goat with very long horns that can bend and move them (limited by horn length) to his will, that are pretty sharp. Only downside is how his horns can get caught in walls and other surfaces.

Would be able to do things I could never imagine without ever having to worry about people recognizing me.

First of all, if it’s my number sending messages back in time to myself, I could easily convince myself it’s me by sending a list of my passwords back in time.

Second, tell myself that I’m screwed no matter what because there’s no way I could defeat a professional assassin (assuming it’s professional), especially one from the future, and to probably just hang myself or some other form of suicide in order to mock the assassin by not letting them get the kill.

Well, all fully blind people lose their ability to effectively communicate, at the very least. At least until some form of sound based “sign” language is developed.

A refurbished 2019 tablet I got from them that is supported by LineageOS has been giving me trouble on the flashing side of things, so I’ll second this.

Watch videos before passing out. It’s what usually happens to me every night.

If it isn’t able to federate to other servers and/or services, like kbin to lemmy and such, without 3rd party tools like the bluesky bridge thingamajig, absolutely not.

Currently the same picture as my background. For obvious reasons, I blocked out parts that I shouldn’t be showing for privacy concerns.

My bank app does the same and will most likely log me out if I end up switching to a different app. I don’t mind because I’d rather have that happen than have a stranger come up, steal my phone while unlocked, and be able to access my bank details (no matter how unlikely that scenario is).

Definitely wacky cartoons like Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog or maybe season 1 of Reboot (part way through season 2, so I don’t know whether the rest of the seasons are as light hearted as season 1), both shows you can laugh at the obsurdities of it all and in Reboots case laugh at the very outdated animation.

Definitely now considering I wouldn’t have even made it to 10 years old before dying if it wasn’t for modern surgery. Would have probably died for unknown reasons to them and I probably would have been marked as having been possessed by some sort of evil spirit or demon if for whatever reason they cut me open and found the weird growth attached to my heart.

To see the chaos, definitely some place like yt. Imagine you are watching an hour long video essay about something you love but you have to keep interacting with the website/app in some way that disrupts the video every 5 or so minutes or else you get locked out and require 2FA every time.

I imagine after a long enough time, the lazy people would just quit going and using their service all together. I know I would.
