But it is similar enough that you can easily find white papers and crosswalks in compliance communities. The difference between HIPAA and gdpr is mostly informed sharing and where that’s permissible https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/industry/blog/healthcare/2018/05/14/gdpr-implementation-hipaa-compliance-what-you-need-to-know/ Linked on that page is a PDF example. The execution and requirements are mostly the same.
