Unbricking my MacBook took an email to Tim Cook

After my lost MacBook was returned to me with an Activation Lock on it, Apple refused to unlock it. Only after emailing Tim Cook could I get it unlocked.

    I hate the idea of any device that can be bricked/locked out via software, especially when that lockout is controlled by a 3rd party.
