Minor title correction: Google was already fingerprinting all your devices. In 8 weeks they start making that data available to their partners (so…maybe to practically everyone with a pulse…?)

This is an important distinction, because we should assume Google employees are already judging our fetishes, but we can look forward to Walmart employees judging our fetishes 8 weeks from now.

Edit: I just remembered that I have a Google advertising account. I guess I can look forward to finding out what kind of weird stuff you’re all into.

Just saw your edit, i’m fairly sure the depth of insight you’ll get into our fetishes will depend on which subscription plan you can afford 😹

[Google VP for Regulatory Affairs] warned that “DOJ’s proposal would harm American consumers and undermine America’s global technology leadership at a critical juncture — such as by requiring us to share people’s private search queries with foreign and domestic rivals, and restricting our ability to innovate and improve our products.”

see! tracking your ass to sell you shit you didnt ask for and don’t need is a matter of national security.

its like 9/11 all over again. “shop to save freedum”. un-fucking-believable! (well, totally believable actually.)
