As a US citizen, I’m starting to feel like a German during WWII. What the hell am I supposed to do when there is no real opposition to Israel running for president? The two party system has completely fucked the world up.

While on its face this bill seems like a way to counter terrorism, the wise among us see it as just another means of puppeteering a government office. The US is losing its status as a representational democracy for each bill like this one.

Progress takes time. I wish I could say this is one of those more positive elections but this is literally a repeat of 4 years ago and we’re gonna be hearing the same talking points all fall. I certainly understand how people can feel overwhelmingly apathetic about our prospects.

It helps to look beyond the couple of issues you’re most passionate about and consider the whole platform. While the differences may seem minor when it comes to something like Israel, they’re definitely not the same and would handle this situation differently.

But at the end of the day, no one can force you to vote for either one. Abstention is always a choice. Just don’t skip out on local issues because those can impact change just as much as anything else.
