I feel like it has something to do with 0.333 s for the time aspect
It would make something in 4/4 time sound as if it was in 8/12 time with the accent heavily on the every 4 pulses like TRIP-a-let

If your delay has a beat sync option just set the time to one of the ones that says T after it. That stands for triplet.
Or like someone else said, do the math vs the bpm.
