I’ve hired over 1,000 people in my career

Annnd there it is. The person is beating around the bush trying to make unionizing harder.

In a society where people are less happy and more disconnected we are encouraged to (checks notes) not form personal bonds with the people we spend most of our time with.

I hate that these are the people I spend most my time with. I like my coworkers just fine, I’ve grabbed a beer with a few. Made unexpected friends. I just hate that I’m forced to spend most my time with a bunch of people whose collective mission is to make money for someone else, and that soneone else is the person who gets to spend a majority of their time with whoever they dam well please.

        I ALSO hate it.

        So do those other people.

This is why this HR professional doesn’t want you guys getting too chummy. It’s in his best interest that you don’t discuss that.

This article is disheartening in the way it presents both friendship and work environment.

I have never been in a place where becoming friends with coworkers could have brought drama. We are not in middle school.

Also, “focus on what really matters: the work” Seriously?? In 2024??? Hustle hustle hustle, amirit?

The person who write this article is definitely not someone I would want to become friends with

Get back to work and be a good friend to the shareholders.
