A dubbed version of something is basically a warped parody of it. But dub fans get really defensive about it.

“Someone unlocked this story for you. Log in to read for free.”

They think they are being cute.

It’s infuriating because Reddit is still a good source of information on really specific topics. Time to make a throwaway account I guess.

AI stays: Wealth consolidation
Bubble bursts: Wealth consolidation
You are fucked either way

I hate when people validate the core idea of needing to protect children through age verification. Timmy lying about being over 18 to look at some boobs is not a problem that needs to be resolved. It’s like requiring everyone to wear body cameras specifically to prevent store clerks from being rude to you.

The people who can verify their identity will be less willing to share their opinion on certain topics once they know they aren’t anonymous. I’m certain this is one of the goals. The reactions to political news, world events, law proposals and atrocities will be far more muted and it will be easier to control the population.

The problem is that Reddit NSFW is an extremely broad category that doesn’t only include porn. So many posts and memes are tagged with it. Realizing that I’m now seeing a censored, inauthentic version of Reddit made me delete the app.

Owning a property just to rent it shouldn’t be the most popular aspiration to move up in the world. It creates a divided society of renters who can’t make ends meet and landlords who constantly need to worry about their investment backfiring.
