Yeah, a generator would be a great option for most people, I imagine.

I think they do/will make a lot of sense. Being able to drive to a job site and run your welder or other tools from the truck’s battery seems like a game changer for certain applications. The Chevy Silverado EV and the F-150 Lightning seem pretty nice to me. They’ll both be much more appealing once battery tech, charging speed, and charging infrastructure improve. I’m pretty stoked about this new company called Telo, I hope they make it. It’s a pretty small truck with an 8’ bed that’s about as long as a Mini Cooper, plus it has the solar tech from Aptera.
Edit: and I imagine the Rivian R2T and R3T will be pretty sweet.
It’s an improvement over his last haircut. He looks like he actually goes outside sometimes now, too.
I recently tried out an “LED banner” (called LED scroller in the google play store) app that lets you scroll text on your screen. Pretty cool, I would totally pay $5 or maybe even $10 for it. In the free version, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many ads in such a short period of time. The paid version was $15 PER WEEK. That’s $780 per year. To scroll some text. It’s the only app I’ve ever bothered to post a review for.
They won’t notice/care/learn. They’ll probably blame Biden/democrats for anything bad that happens.
I did some research on the population today. Every page I’ve looked at says it’s going to peak around the 2080’s at around 10.4 billion and then start declining.
IF I have kids with my current partner it would probably be in about 3-5 years.
Passing down knowledge and raising a (hopefully) good person are among my main reasons for having kids.
If you don’t mind me asking, how old were you when you became a father? I’m 37, my dad was 45 when he had me. If I do end up having kids I damn sure do not feel ready.
Has anyone close to you told you that you should have kids?
Those are both among the main arguments I have against having any.
Good point. I disabled the internet on both systems so when I come in on Monday hopefully I can confirm whether or not the date/time aspect is a problem. I’ll try this as well.
We have 3 theoretically identical systems here and this same issue occurs on 2 of them. The 3rd one… has bigger issues right now. That would be interesting to see what happens if I swap the Pis around but I’d give it >95% chance the same thing happens.
Largely for safety reasons, anytime the system is turned off power is instantly cut to the entire system. All of our CAN devices boot up much faster than the Pi does. Once the Pi boots, it sets up CAN communication.
The date/time aspect is an interesting thought. For a bit more context, this machine is a Raspberry Pi connected to several other devices, some via USB and some via a CAN network. The system gets powered on manually, the user performs a task, then shuts it down until they need it again. We only use the date/time for logging. The system is connected to our wifi at our facility but after we ship it then it’s likely it will never be connected to the internet except maybe when we’re servicing it and updating code. I don’t think the Pi has a RTC. I don’t really see how the date/time could be causing the issue I’m seeing (seems to be lag in communication with the devices on the CAN network) but I guess stranger things have happened.
Trying to reproduce a bug that consistently only shows up the first time we boot up our machines that day. Currently testing to see how long the machine needs to be off in order for the bug to show up again. I’m at an hour now.
I mean… Historically I find the superbowl ads (and the halftime show) more entertaining than the actual game, but damn that is shitty.
