it’s film and it’s nowhere near close. but just to use an obscure choice, a binaural radio play is very effective. sadly the only one i know of is deadhouse by the bbc
you have to lie down flat and wear headphones. the first episode concerns two people working on your corpse, while you become aware of what’s happening. i thought it was terrifying

would love to know if there’s anything else like this

5·1 month agotop level posts, i usually upvote anything i commented on or just liked for any reason. i almost never downvote them
for comments, more or less the same except i will happily downvote stupid or belligerent comments, i don’t buy this ‘does it add to the discussion’ thing, if that was true it would apply to upvotes as well. piefed has an ‘attitude score’ so when i downvote a comment, i will upvote surrounding comments at random to keep my good boy points at an acceptable level
the other attitude score related thing is upvoting almost anything that has been highly downvoted regardless of its quality just because it seems funny to raise my score by upvoting stuff that everyone else hates

2·5 months agoA purply pinky pallette is often used for cosmic horror. I don’t know if this is because of magenta ‘not existing’ or if it’s just a coincidence but it’s a good choice anyway

5·5 months agoThis is a good take although I still prefer the sinister ending of the film over the redemptive one in the book. Later editions include a foreword by Burgess lamenting the omission of the 21st chapter in part because he wrote three acts of seven chapters for the symmetry of it and the symbolism of 21 being the age of majority
the osa was dreamed up by the tories and enthusiastically implemented by labour. even if proportional rep or whatever alternative to fptp was established before the act came into force, there is little chance that one of these main parties wouldn’t have had enough influence to push it through regardless

the necessity of it, and that whatever you get paid to do becomes it
