The first time I heard of red hat, all I could think of was these

I want to know their language and philosophy. To truly be able to see into a mind so different from our own in any way. If we can even understand.

The only memories I have before 3 that I know are real are traumatic.
My Grampy’s funereal day at my Granny’s house. I’m being carried down her driveway. Everything is so strange looking because the perspectives are so different from the norm. I can only assume it’s my mom carrying me. All I really remember is the trees with the black stripes for the gypsy moths.
I also remember being late in age 2 and I go to cross the street, see a car coming, so I come back. Then when I go to cross the street, I tripped and just happened to land my knee on a sharp stone. I remember lifting my knee and it was just entirely coated in blood. (I probably could have used like one stitch. It healed fine. Still have the scar)
Then nothing much until around 4 or 5 when it starts to come together and be more coherent.

Open source fuels so much software division and diversity this claim of it hurting competition is laughable.

Dr Oz? You mean that guy in the Trump-Epstein Files?

It’s alright. I don’t believe it was all that bad. But I never really tried or cared, so it was 100% low effort haha

Oh what a cool take!
I always liked to think of the Borg as being almost more like an emergent property of a certain level and type of organic/inorganic interfacing.
So it’s not that one species was the Borg, all are in potentia. And every time a species commits the same error or reaches the correct level of “perfection”, they find themselves in a universe where they were already existent.
Like a small hive self-creates, opens its mental ears and is already subsumed into the greater Borg whose mind it finds.
I like that it adds almost a whole new level of arrogance to their statement, “Resistance is futile.” They believe it not only because they are about to physically assimilate you, but because every advance you make brings you potentially closer to being Borg through your own missteps.

No one gave a shit about my shitty low effort shit while alive. Who the fuck wants a slop version of me to be disappointed in as well?
This. I’m not judging the program based on if I can use it. I need to get my non tech savvy friends onto it as well and this is where so many alternatives fail the litmus test
I also want this suite of things. I stream movies to friends, share games I’m playing…
These are core features to me now in a robust chat client

It’s quite handy… When you have a need for it. Which I do not in my daily life.
I’m not an anti-math Luddite or something. I just don’t often have a need to solve for an unknown term in a math problem in my life in the day to day.
Just because my life doesn’t require it every day doesn’t mean I wouldn’t know when to use it.

I was listing types of math I was forced to learn that I never really use

I don’t use algebra, calculus etc. in my daily life, but I sure speak and read English every single day regardless of what I am doing.
Not sure why you’d expect everyone to know high level math when we don’t use it.

Shut your stupid face and crawl back into your AIPAC hole, you worthless piece of corporate Democratic trash.
I feel the same about PeerTube. And the fact it is a defederated network with opt in to federation is a bad model IMO. There’s no way for a creator to get paid, either AFAIK.
I tried it out. First sign up, I was shuttled to an instance federated with only two other instances. Second sign up, I found what looked like an active instance but there still is just a lack of content. I’m not sure how to fix any of its issues as I see them. I’d love an actual YouTube competitor
I don’t care about some karma number, but yeah, I definitely like to see some conversations I’ve had, or things I’ve upvoted because I maybe would like to share them later in a conversation.
So yeah, I like having the record for me.
We were also talking about getting more people on the platform and you are basically showing exactly why others hate this place. My criticism is valid and something a normal person would notice. You came in and wrote a small diatribe about… Not what I was talking about.
No, I don’t obsessively go over everything I’ve ever said. But I sure do sometimes want to revisit, rethink and repost things.

It’s so comically evil, it seems like satire but isn’t.
In a community about things that seem like satire but aren’t.
Except it does matter which instance you choose because they choose to defederate with other instances, it may be an instance run by one person who disappears, on a huge instance that collapses, etc.
There’s not really a way to migrate totally, AFAIK, so if you choose wrong, you start over. This has been my actual user experience. Kbin was my first choice because of UI and mastodon integration. That instance died when the Dev disappeared. Then I moved to lemm.ee thinking that a large instance surely would stay up. It didn’t.
So “it doesn’t matter” which instance you choose. Except it also kind of does.

Installing graphene was not like flashing a ROM ten years ago. You just follow the simple steps on the web installer.
No. I’d suggest seeking professional help.
