It’s language for people who advertise they know something about “AI,” but couldn’t implement it if their life depended on it.
TBH I’ve never heard that one, but it sounds like they’re trying to use “gradient descent” in a sentence.

That’s amazing. It’s almost hard to believe, yet it sounds about right.

That makes sense.
Heh. Spotify used to stream 384K Vorbis, which should be sufficient. But now the web app is apparently AAC. And the app-apps are conspicuously listed with “equivalent to” bitrates, whatever that means:
https://support.spotify.com/us/article/audio-quality/
Very high: Equivalent to approximately 320kbit/s

Behold:
5.4 Electrical Conductivity Measurement This method includes electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and dielectric analysis (DEA). The physical state of a material is measured as a function of frequency in EIS and the frequency ranges from 100 Hz - 10 MHz. It is simple and easier technique used to estimate the physiological status of various biological tissues49-52. Experimental frequency response of impedance is characterised by electrical equivalent circuits of materials. The physical properties of materials can be quantified by monitoring the changes in parameters at the equivalent circuit, among various equivalent models proposed53-54. DEA measurement is used in high frequency areas, generally 100 MHz - 10 GHz. DEA is used in moisture estimation and bulk density determination

So a overripe banana is an interesting high-pass filter, kinda like a capacitor, though the big takeaway is the conductance vs ripeness.
So if you want to test if a banana is ready to eat, hook it up… preferably with several other bananas in series. If the music is too loud, they are ready. Too quiet, and it’s not time yet.

I did a blind test, and found it depends on the genre.
Slow, chill music is completely transparent when compressed, no matter how hard I “audio peep.” It’s not even a question.
But something “dense” like System of a Down has audible distortion. It loosely (not always) coincided with the bitrate of the flac files, which kind of makes sense, though even the extreme end is hard to notice unless you know the particular song very well.
Also… a lot of recordings kind of suck. It’s crazy to worry about tiny bits of distortion when a bit perfect master is already noisy and distorted.

It’s been like this for decades, according to my dad. Well before the internet.

My conspiracy theory is they have so much dirt on the finance world that it gives them leverage.
What if there were to be a “data breach” of what they’ve been subscribe too…

OF has killed off the vast majority of ppl just doing it for fun.
With Instragram as the “creator front page.” Patreon too, on the digital art side.
It’s so weird how OF gets to pretend it isn’t a porn site, and somehow get along with banks that would normally turn their nose up to a literal porn site.

You can still buy the Framework Strix Halo board (with 128GB RAM) for $2k. For now.
I have a 3090, yet I’m still seriously considering it. The CPU itself is an engineering marvel, not to speak of the ridiculously fast RAM and IGP.
Only caveat is you better be a Python/Linux person. As you will be building forks and beating your head against the screen to get the setup working right.

Friend, this is 2026.
Clickbait is mandatory. Get your reason out of here.

I’m sure many did, sadly.

The problem is that a 54-year old Kansas mayor is somehow technically not a citizen, after living here for decades.
That makes no sense.
He shouldn’t have voted, and should have known not to, but he didn’t expect this because he’s stuck in a system that’s been screwed up for decades. One that Congress won’t reform precisely to leverage it as a wedge issue like this. And now that debt has come due.

Camera equipment.
All the mirrorless makers price gouge the daylight out of their stuff.

It’s very cool, but not cheap. If your goal is to save cash by extending the hardware’s life, TBH it’d make way more financial sense to just invest that cash instead.

Per the survey source, they asked respondents:
Question: Do you approve or disapprove of how [chief executive’s name] is doing?
Response options: 4-point approval scale, plus don’t know/no opinion

Multi party politics complicate things, yes, but that doesn’t negate a 16% approval rating from such a simple question.
Wherever it’s coming from, with this trajectory, you guys are going to lose democratic EU leaders. There’s just no way such approval ratings are politically viable. And it sure looks like demagogues are lined up to replace them.
If the EU keeps externalizing their problems, well, those external problems won’t matter before long. You can’t beat the demagogues at that game.

I see lots of “brush it, it’s fine” posts, but if you want to dunk your components, that’s a whole different story. Alcohol is certainly going to dissolve something like TIM or thermal pads; that might not be a problem.
But it might?
One thing very oldschool PC builders did is submerge their PCs in mineral oil for cooling. This liquid is more innocuous, AFAIK.
So you could get some in a plastic tray and dunk your components in it. I have no advice for getting the oil off though.

Yeah…
We said the same thing in America, comparing ourselves to places with “less free” political discourse right up to when we voted in Donald Trump in the face of Jan 6 and COVID-19, if our own free will.
Algorithms and demagogues are eating Europe alive.
I’m not trying to criticize the multi-party systems or the good efforts to decouple from the US, but you guys are deluding yourselves if you think that will save you. None of it is going to matter when every single EU member has a MAGA analogue in power.

Apologies, it was some kind of Windows screenshot tool bug. Here it is again, taken from linux.:

Fixed the original comment, too.
I’d wager it was some kind of HDR rendering bug.
It’s too late, though. She’d dead to hardcore MAGA, no Rumble influencer would dare amplify her, and algorithms would never show this to people more on the fence.
