I like to ask a variety of questions, sometimes silly, serious, and/or strange. Never asking in an attempt to pester or “just asking questions” stuff.
I’m generally curious and/or trying to get a sense of people’s views.

ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which animals, besides cats or dogs, would you give a ride to or intentionally let in your home with barely a second thought?5·6 days agoCruising on a boat, spot a shark fin, “Hey pal want a tow?” Or if the boat has some kinda bay, “Flop aboard for a ride sharko!”
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which animals, besides cats or dogs, would you give a ride to or intentionally let in your home with barely a second thought?7·6 days agoPersonally, and it might end me one day, but almost any kinda lizard I think I’d welcome in.
Also sometimes groundhogs look like they might like a brief lift to another patch of dirt to dig around in, or I dunno, maybe a brief snack run.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?1·18 days agoWould taking notes from some dogs and rolling in foul stuff count?
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?11·18 days agoWhy limit your imagining to products alone? Even in that reply I’m not specifying person or thing (despite the use of “it”), and with the original question I’m asking either marketing oneself or something.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?6·18 days agoThe internet has been carefully curated […]
You mean the fuckin’ corporate internet? 😜
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?4·18 days agoYes but also markets in general, because why not?
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?3·18 days agoNo no, if they could hire you for that you’d be marketable, but if you actively liked the product and kept talking them up only to make them uncool and refused being paid to or paid to stop, maybe? 🤔
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?5·18 days agoI would think like however ungovernable is meant but directed toward businesses and markets.
I guess that may look like disregard for contracts, refusing to sell to businesses, applying for jobs only to string businesses along or ghost them like they have so many, or things like this?
Asking to see how people interpret and run with the idea, what they consider unmarketable and the ways to achieve it
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What ethical, or legal, ways could someone make themselves or something unmarketable?3·18 days agoAs in you can’t market it because it wouldn’t sell regardless of how you may try.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What subreddit are you trying to replace on Lemmy that needs pumping up?8·19 days agoMay be too specific but have been inconsistently trying to get !likethismaylike@lemm.ee going as a community to find alternatives/similar stuff to what one likes.
It’s a riff on the old ifyoulikeblank subreddit without the initially unclear tagging requirements.
People comment, which is great, but few other posters.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You have the opportunity to make individual words for which there aren't any, instantly adopted, which words do you make and why?1·29 days agoPerhaps malleerphobia? Or if being formal-ish, anaspectaphobia?
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You have the opportunity to make individual words for which there aren't any, instantly adopted, which words do you make and why?4·1 month agoAs in put into regular use and understood in all the various ways they may come to be understood. As compared to a word that one makes up in private that only they understand and may never pass from them into use by anyone else, particularly with their personal understanding/meaning.
However this is meant as a fun question, so you may answer with your ideal conditions in mind. The question is meant to provide a starting point, not set any strict bounds or punitive conditions.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You have the opportunity to make individual words for which there aren't any, instantly adopted, which words do you make and why?7·1 month agoOn further thought, adding a couple words to the already kinda long question wasn’t too much. I adjusted it to better ask what I had in mind, which was what invented words would you make and have instantly adopted.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What should one follow (via RSS/here/elsewhere) to tune into strictly non-commercial stuff?2·1 month agoCould be (at least fediverse style), but not sure who/what to follow or how to filter out what I mentioned.
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What should one follow (via RSS/here/elsewhere) to tune into strictly non-commercial stuff?7·1 month agoStuff as in anything, intentionally broad there.
Non-commercial is harder to nail down, but by and large I mean not-for-profit, sort of casual hobbyist activity with zero interest in trying to turn it into a business/side-hustle. People discussing/sharing their original stuff simply for its own sake.
Not fan work, coverage of commercial works, etc. Nothing against that stuff, it’s just easily found and readily available.

ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Fediverse@lemmy.world•What do you think might be some fun, positive ways for instances to distinguish themselves?English6·1 month agoWhy do you think so?
ALostInquirer@lemm.eeOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What sorts of punctuation do you wish existed, or were in common use in your language?7·1 month agoIf I understand @xmunk@sh.itjust.works’s comment elsewhere in this thread properly, I think that’s what a pause interrogative may be. I also agree with them that it (and the interrogative start) does better fit some ways of speaking.
Comments like this make asking these questions so worth it. That’s such a cool thing to know is happening somewhere!
